Zombies... On Ice!

So, you're off from school, work is boring, or you can't stand the throngs of rude people in the frenzy of Holiday Shopping.

You want to get out and DO something....but what?

Well, here it is.

December 14th (tentative) at 2:30 (again, tentative) in the afternoon, Kitty will be holding the first Zombies on Ice event at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago!
Kitty has teamed up with Chicago Zombie and others to be named soon to bring you this fun and festive event.

Now, here is the kicker... we are going to try for the Guinness Book of World Records for most zombies ice skating at one time!

There will be swag, pictures, video, and of course, lots and LOTS of zombies!

And don't forget to look for updates on www.chicagozombie.com.

We have a Facebook event page set up at this link.

**Wondering who this Kitty is? Well, Kitty can't talk, so I will tell you a bit about him. Kitty is a shock trooper of Zombie Army Productions. He can not talk, but makes a lot of noise! Don't let him get too close... you never know WHAT he may do. The mind of a puppy in the body of a reanimated killer... he is quite the work, be sure!

A favorite in the haunted house circuit, he's sure to win your heart, too. Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/officialkittyzombie

War and Social Upheaval Cause Spikes in Zombie Movie Production

There's been a huge spike in the production of zombie movies lately, and many of them seem to be inspired by war. Everything from 28 Days Later to Zombie Strippers make explicit reference to wartime, as did seminal 1968 zombie flick Night of the Living Dead. Is there really a connection between zombie movies and social unrest? IO9.com decided to do some research and find out. Check out their results HERE.

Quarantine Contest!

QuarantineTelevision reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.

QUARANTINE opens nationwide on October 10th. However, we have passes to an advance screening in Chicago - send us a photo of yourself as a zombie:

  • Send your photo as an image attachment to an email
  • Send us a link to the image online (make sure it's not Friends Only!)

All photo entries will be posted to HauntedHouseChicago.com; screening pass winners will be selected at random from all entries; we will also select Grand Prize Winners from the photos - the best zombies will get prize packs with exclusive Quarantine merchandise!

TO ENTER, send your photo to savage@chicagohorror.com with the Subject Header "QUARANTINE ME!". Include your real name and preferred email address. That's it! C'mon, Chicago - show us your BRAAAAAAINS...

DEADLINE: October 8 at Noon. Winners will be notified of the time and location of the screening shortly thereafter.

DISCLAIMERS: Providing incomplete information (no name, bad email address) means you won't win anything. Please don't send us a photo if you don't want it shown to the world - that kind of defeats the purpose. Winners will be contacted directly by Quarantine's promotional company and any issues or complaints should be taken up with them - HauntedHouseChicago.com / ChicagoHorror.com / ChicagoZombie.com / ZombiePinups.com are providing this opportunity to you because we're nice and we love you, but once we deliver your info/photos to Quarantine, it's out of our hands.
